UPDATE – SAMRM 2020 Conference Call for Abstracts

The call for 20-minute oral presentation abstracts has been extended to November 9, 2019. Poster abstracts must be received by January 31, 2020.

Submit presentation or poster abstract and biographical sketch via the active link samrmconf2020@mrmnursingtheory.org.

Abstract Submission Process: Submit MS Word documents for a blind abstract and biographical sketch for each presenter.

  • The blind abstract includes presentation title, conference objectives being addressed, and presentation description (300 words or less).
  • A short biographical sketch for each presenter includes presentation title, presenter name with contact information, and biographical information (100 words or less).

Acceptance Time Line
Presentations: Accepted presentation abstracts will receive email notification by December 14, 2019. Presenters are required to submit email presentation confirmation by January 10, 2020.
Poster: Accepted poster abstracts will receive email notification by February 21, 2020. Presenters are required to submit email presentation confirmation by March 13, 2020.

SAMRM 2020 Conference

Join us for a three-day international nursing conference in Bemidji, MN September 24-26, 2020 sponsored by the Society for Advancement of Modeling and Role-Modeling (SAMRM). Through presentations, interactions, networking, and dialogue, participants will gain greater understanding of diverse and differing worldviews as well as how to facilitate health, healing, and wellbeing by embracing differences, creating partnerships and gaining collective wisdom.

Join us for a three-day international nursing conference in Bemidji, MN September 24-26, 2020 sponsored by the Society for Advancement of Modeling and Role-Modeling (SAMRM). Through presentations, interactions, networking, and dialogue, participants will gain greater understanding of diverse and differing worldviews as well as how to facilitate health, healing, and wellbeing by embracing differences, creating partnerships and gaining collective wisdom.

SAMRM 2020 Conference Goals:

  1. Create partnerships to promote collective wisdom and facilitate healing, health, and well-being through understanding diverse client worldviews and cultural perspectives.
  2. Provide a forum on diverse worldviews based on Modeling and Role-Modeling theory holistic nursing concepts.
  3. Disseminate knowledge and application of Modeling and Role-Modeling holistic nursing theory acquired through research, practice, and teaching.
  4. Inspire best practices, education and research grounded in holistic relationship-centered nursing across populations and cultures.

The 18th biennial conference will be held in Bemidji, MN known as the first city on the Mississippi and home to lumberjack legend Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. The Hampton Inn and the DoubleTree Hotel (adjacent to one another) are located on the shores of Lake Bemidji. Paved hiking trails right outside the hotel doors lead hikers around the lake and into Bemidji State Park. September in northern Minnesota is a perfect time to experience the fall colors. Visitors may enjoy the changing leaves on the 30-minute drive to the Headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park.
